USA Major League Soccer (MLS) -- Portland Timbers VS DC United

Livescore | Match Prediction & Tips| Asian Handicap Odds|Line-ups & H2H Stats

The Portland Timbers expect to be without Julio Cascante, Larrys Mabiala, Modou Jadama, and goalkeepers Jeff Atinella and Kendall McIntosh. Renzo Zambrano is suspended.

DC United doesn't expect Jalen Robinson, Chris Odoi-Atsem and Oniel Fisher to play. They also loaned defender Chris Durkin to Sint-Truiden of Belgium.

Portland Timbers

Suspended: Renzo Zambrano

Doubtful: Zarek Valentin (leg), Marco Farfan (knee),

Injured/unavailable: Jeff Attinella (shoulder), Modou Jadama (foot); Larrys Mabiala, Julio Cascante (both thigh), Kendall McIntosh (foot)

DC United

Suspended: None

Doubtful: None

Injured/unavailable: Jalen Robinson, Oniel Fisher (both knee); Chris Odoi-Atsem (hamstring)

Portland earned three crucial points in their quest for a Western Conference playoff spot with a 2-1 home win over Sporting Kansas City last weekend. They fell behind after 65 minutes but Jeremy Ebobisse levelled the the match with seven minutes remaining and Brian Fernandez then snatched the winner in the final minute. It was their second straight league win following a pair of defeats. Portland has four wins and three losses in the last seven contests as they remain in the tight playoff race in the West. With 43 points.

It seems like it's all or nothing for DC United as they either struggle to score or the goals come in bunches. It was the latter in their last league outing as they shut out Montreal 3-0 away. It was a much-needed win as it halted their three-game losing skid. Their poor form overall means they have  just 42 of a possible 90 points and are fighting tooth and nail to hang on to their Eastern playoff spot.

Portland have seven wins, two draws and three losses at home and with the playoffs on the line for both teams I expect a close Portland win.

The last two meetings have produced nine goals as these two teams have gone toe to toe lately. I expect at least three goals.

DC United were 4-1 victors at home in last year's league match however Portland has four wins and two losses in the last six meetings.
