MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN
United slumped to consecutive defeats with their 1-0 loss at Central Coast last round in the league, leaving them fifth on the ladder after an encouraging early run. Their home form has been scratchy, with one win from four league games at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong.
Second-placed Sydney are the clear title favourites after winning their third straight league match, 3-1 away to premiers Perth last round. The Sky Blues are scoring goals for fun, with nine strikes in their past three matches and they’ve no fear on the road.
The Sky Blues have won both of their league games outside of Sydney this season, scoring three goals on both occasions, so I’ll back them away to United who’ve flattered to deceive at home so far.
SECOND PREDICTION: HILO - HIGH
Sydney may be scoring for fun, but they’ve conceded at least a goal in every league game they’ve played this season. That combination makes me expect some goal scoring action here.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
These two clubs have never met before.
