English Premier League -- Manchester United VS Manchester City

-----------------------------------

Manchester United: It's getting better and better ( Recent Form: D W W D W )

For Manchester United, meeting with Manchester City is perhaps the most important thing. The Red Devils have to beat Manchester City if they want to stick to the Champions League qualification, as Chelsea (the number four in the ranking) is three points ahead of the Ole Gunnar Solskjær team. For Manchester United, Champions League qualification is logically a must. In the current season Manchester United has to settle for the Europa League and that tournament is (financially) less attractive. Recently, Solskjær has been getting better and better at the Manchester United. The Red Devils have been unbeaten in all competitions since January 22 and won two of their last three Premier League duels. Last Sunday in the Premier League, Manchester United had to settle for a 1-1 draw visiting Everton, while The Red Devils easily won 0-3 in Derby County on Thursday-evening in the FA Cup. Manchester United will probably have a harder time against Manchester City. Two months ago, Manchester United was completely eliminated by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford, resulting in a 1-3 defeat.

Manchester City: Five wins in a row ( Recent Form: W W W W W )

Manchester City is in second place in the Premier League and actually does not play football anymore. The Citizens are 22 points behind Liverpool and will never close that gap again. For Manchester City it is just a matter of enforcing a Champions League ticket, provided that The Citizens are allowed to be active in Europe next season. Now that the renewal of the title is virtually impossible for Manchester City, The Citizens have one thing left to do: the Champions League must be won. In the Premier League, Manchester City is currently playing for nothing, because a final ranking in the top 4 seems to be a fact. The formation of Pep Guardiola won the Carabao Cup last weekend by beating Aston Villa with 1-2. Manchester City played another cup match on Wednesday-evening, this time it was a duel in the FA Cup. On a visit to Sheffield Wednesday, Manchester City won 0-1 through a goal from Sergio Agüero. The Argentinian will probably also start in Guardiola on Sunday at Old Trafford, but there is still a big question mark behind Kevin de Bruyne's name. Given the ranking on the ranking list and the Champions League match with Real Madrid in the offing, it is not inconceivable that Guardiola will not take a risk with the Belgian midfielder this weekend.

THE BETTING VERDICT

After all, Manchester United is currently in a much better shape than at the start of this year, when The Red Devils were played away in-house by Manchester City. I think that the difference in this Manchester Derby is less and I therefore go to bet the Manchester United +1.

Manchester United - Manchester City

Pick: Manchester United +1
