FC Ryukyu came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw away at FC Ehime last weekend in J2, their goal coming from Koya Kazama. They are struggling to get away from the bottom but have two 1-1 draws in their last three games as they finally stem the flow of losses. Last weekend saw their first away point and they may be gaining a little confidence back after a dire start to the campaign. What is noticeable is that they raise their home game against better teams – earning a home draw against two of the current top four already. Jubilo Iwata are a team everyone expects to be challenging for promotion. Will FC Ryukyu raise their game again?

Jubilo Iwata went down 2-0 at home to Tokushima Vortis last weekend in J2. They have just three wins all season, all of them at home and are struggling to stay in touch with the top six already. They are the surprise team of 2020 so far, in a negative way, and I can't see much changing yet, although they will eventually work it out and rise up the table, I'm sure. For now they need to find their best players, team and formation and then get some points on the board.

With FC Ryukyu gaining home draws against the bigger teams and Jubilo Iwata without an away point yet the away team may well be happy with the draw that they will be offered here!

FC Ryukyu have three draws this season – all 1-1, while Jubilo Iwata's only draw was also 1-1. These two teams have scored just 12 goals between them in their 14 games. Not much expected here but the away team will be desperate not to lose and may look more at defending than taking advantage of FC Ryukyu's leaky defence.

This will be the first time these two teams have met in league play.
