Coventry: Among the top (Recent Form: DLDWDW)

After finishing on eight place in the table in League One last year, just two positions from the playoff spots, Coventry started this season with even higher ambitions, this time to attack the top six positions and at least at the beginning of the campaign they are proving that will most probably be among the top sides in the league this year. They lost just one single time since the start of the season, collecting twenty points in their opening eleven league games (5-5-1) and currently being on sixth place, just three points even from the second position and the direct promotion spot. But what is most impressive about their performance so far is without a doubt their performance at home, despite that the club is actually not playing their home matches at their own arena since the start of the campaign. Coventry is yet to lose a game at home so far in League One and not only that, but they managed to collect a whole sixteen points in their opening six league matches played here (5-1-0), as in these six games they showed great defense, having conceded just four times.

Tranmere: Among the bottom (Recent Form: WLLWDL)

A little bit surprisingly, Tranmere not only managed to reach the playoffs in League Two last year, but they also went on and won the playoffs, guaranteeing themselves a place in League One for this year, as the main goal for the club is to stabilize their positions in that league and try to avoid getting involved in the relegation battle. They are currently among the bottom sides in the ranks, which was more or less expected, having been able to win just two of their opening eleven league games, collecting only nine points (2-3-6), as well as away from home being even worse, with one single point in the five games played (0-1-4) and only two goals scored.

The Betting Verdict:

The two sides are with different ambitions this year and with Coventry being expected to be among the top and Tranmere to battle against relegation, especially looking at their away performance, everything else but a home victory would be a serious surprise here.
