Cardiff needed two second-half goals to overturn a 2-0 deficit and confirm a replay against Carlisle in the FA Cup last weekend. The result follows an embarrassing 6-1 demolition at the hands of a previously out-of-form QPR side which has left Neil Harris’ men in 12th place, four points off the top six following a run of one win from six league games.

Yan Dhanda’s early goal proved to be the difference as Swansea beat an injury-ravaged Charlton side 1-0 last Thursday. Steve Cooper’s men have climbed back into the play-off places after picking up ten points from a possible 15 in their last five league games, but the visitors must now respond to being beaten 5-1 away from home by QPR in the FA Cup third round.

Cardiff have lost just one of their last 12 league matches at the Millennium Stadium and I don’t expect that record to worsen.

Four of Cardiff’s last six games in all competitions have ended as draws and therefore produced an even total number of goals. Both sides have suffered embarrassing defeats at the hands of QPR in 2020 and are separated by just four points in the table, meaning a draw looks the most likely result this weekend.

Swansea snatched all three points as they beat Cardiff 1-0 earlier this season.
