Angers: Fourth league defeat in a row ( Recent Form: D L L L L )

A visit to low-flyer Nimes Olympique last weekend saw Angers crash for the fifth consecutive race. At the end of January, Angers was eliminated in a crazy match by Stade Rennais in the eighth finals of the Coupe de France and then there were defeats against Stade Reims, AS Monaco, Lille and so Nîmes Olympique last week. Les Scoïstes did not score a single goal on a visit to Nîmes, but seemed to be able to pull a 0-0 draw for a long time. In the final phase, however, Casimir Ninga picked up a red card, after which goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle was passed not much later. Despite the defeat, Angers did not again give up ground in the rankings, but the team of Stéphane Moulin has to be careful, because the lead over the relegation line is only four points. Only six points were obtained from the last ten matches in Ligue 1 and only one point was achieved from the last five competition matches. Also in their own stadium, Les Scoïstes have not been able to convince for a long time this calendar year, because since the end of November the Moulin team no longer managed to win a home game and in half of those games Angers did not score either.

Montpellier: Precious defeat ( Recent Form: D L D W L )

Montpellier visited AS Monaco last weekend, a costly defeat with a view to European tickets. In a matched match, la Paillade took home the only goal of the match shortly after the break and then Michel Der Zakarian's team was unable to avert a 1-0 defeat. As a result, Montpellier lost fifth place to the Monegasken and can now be found in sixth place. Because Stade Rennais and Lille also went down last weekend, the backlog in the top three is still four points, but now AS Monaco is also a formidable competitor for Montpellier. Away games are certainly not the strongest point of la Paillade this season, as only eight points were won from twelve away games in the Ligue 1 this season. Outside the own stadium, the team of Der Zakarian has the necessary difficulty to score, something that only succeeded twice this calendar year, one of which against an amateur club. On the defensive side, the Der Zakarian team is also shaky in away games, as at least one goal was collected in the last six away games against teams from the Ligue 1.

After all, having an advantage in the field, experts are evaluating the ability to win a little bit on the Angers. This is not really reasonable because the Angers players have dropped their form seriously, they play faintly even after receiving warm support from the home audience. Meanwhile, Montpellier is showing a convincing performance at the moment, along with the ability to take advantage of the very good opportunity when encountering opponents not too strong.
