Valerenga are without Herolin Shala, Peter Godly Michael, Adam Kwarasey and Jonatan Nation ahead of this league match.

Rosenborg’s Yann-Erik de Lanlay is a doubt ahead of this game. In addition, Nicklas Bendtner is again absent from the manager’s plans.

Valerenga lost 4-0 away to Bodo Glimt in their last game, as the hosts gained revenge for the 6-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of the Oslo club early last month. Ronny Deila’s side are without a win in their last five league matches. Valerenga occupy 6th place in the table and are level on points with two other clubs – Kristiansund and Viking. And Valerenga could slip even further if their slump in form isn’t halted soon.

Rosenborg edged past Stabaek 3-2 at home in their last league match, goals from Alexander Soderlund, Samuel Adegbenro and a penalty from Pal Andre Helland helped secure all three points. The Trondheim club are undefeated in their last seven league games. There have been under 2.5 goals scored in five of Rosenborg’s last six away league games; and they have only scored eight goals on their travels in 2019.  On Tuesday night they played at home against Dinamo Zagrab in a Champions League qualifier second leg tie, a game they draw 1-1. It was a result that sent the Trondheim club out 3-1 on aggregate.

I think Rosenborg’s record in Oslo speaks for itself and they will feel they can extend that good run in this match. I will predict an away win.

Rosenborg have scored at least two goals in five of their last six visits to the capital, therefore, I will predict a scoreline of 2-1 in favour of the Trondheim club.

Valerenga haven’t beaten Rosenborg at home in their previous six attempts. In that run of winless games, they have scored just seven goals and conceded 12 times.
