Brazil: Preparation for the Copa America ( Recent Form: W W W D W )

Where in Europe the Nations League and friendly matches are played, the South American countries are preparing for the Copa América. Brazil is still friendly against Qatar and Honduras, before the tournament is kicked off against Bolivia on 14 June at home. Brazil is divided into a group with furthermore Peru and Venezuela. In football-crazy Brazil, the critical fans expect nothing more than that the Copa America stays in their own country. In the final selection of national coach Tite, a place has been reserved for Ajax player David Neres. At the forefront, he is preferred to renowned players such as Douglas Costa and Lucas Moura. Vinicius Junior is still injured. What is also striking is that the national coach at the rear opts mainly for experience in the people of Thiago Silva, Dani Alves and Miranda, but that in midfield experienced men like Ramires, Willian, Pualinho and Renato Augusto have stayed at home. Brazil is keen to do better than the previous edition, when the team did not even survive a group with Ecuador, Peru and Haiti.

Qatar: Also participates in Copa America ( Recent Form: W W W W W )

For the average football fan it will be a strange sensation to see Qatar as a participant in a South American championship. The South American football association Conmebol has invited Japan and Qatar to participate in the Copa América this summer. Traditionally, two teams from outside the Conmebol are always invited, so that the field of participants consists of twelve teams, thus forming three groups of four teams. Normally, however, these are teams from Central America. Mexico was not invited for the first time this year, but Japan and Qatar were. Both teams eagerly accepted the offer. Qatar is organizing the World Cup in 2022 and can already show Copa to the world stage what the Golfstaatje has to offer in terms of football. In recent years there have been plans to naturalize a team of Brazilians, but upcoming Copa coach Felix Sanchez almost exclusively appeals to footballers born in Qatar. Only central defender Ro-Ro is Brazilian by birth. Without exception, all players are active in their own Qatari league, making it difficult to estimate their qualities. A lot of money goes into that competition, so that many former top football players there end their career and thus give the competition a quality boost. Qatar, however, is not a dwarf state in the field of football, because last February the Asia Cup was captured by beating Japan in the final.

After all, in the last 4/5 matches, Brazil maintained the habit of scoring 1 goal / match. But in those matches Tite coach did not use the strongest squad. In the screen compared to Qatar here, Brazil is full of good players, especially the return of the star attacking Neymar. This is also a test before entering the 2019 Copa America of both Brazil and Qatar, so the two teams will compete openly. Experts believe that this game will have many goals.
